The Bar
The Emma bar is one of the best college bars in Cambridge. It's student-run, which makes for a great atmosphere and cheap prices. Anyone can work behind the bar and it's a good way to meet new people. The bar also has plenty of customers from other colleges, as some college bars are pretty poor in comparison!
The bar serves most drinks, albeit from plastic cups of various garish shades, and normal closing time is 11. There are also Bar Extensions held in the bar, 3 in Michaelmas, 2 in Lent and 1 in Easter. These are usually fancy dress themed, where the bar stays open later, until 2, and the bar is filled with Emma students in daft costumes dancing to cheesy music. There is also Emma Ents, one of Cambridge's best known student-run club night. Other big events such as "Show Your True Colours", a charity event where the dress code was Emmanuel pink and blue (see picture), and the unforgettable "Miss Emmanuelle".
Bar Committee
The Bar Committee is responsible for making decisions about how the bar is used. All decisions made by the Bar Committee must, however, be approved by College before any action can be taken or policy made.
Who is on the Bar Committee?
The Bar Managers, along with the President and the Ents Coordinator form the Bar Committee. Contact information is available on the Facebook group
